Daddy & Me

For the most part you are a mommy's boy. But there are days that you want nothing to do with me and the only one who makes you happy is Daddy. This was one of those days and you and Daddy were just relaxing together and playing with this huge ball at Uncle Rob and Aunt Patti's. I was even able to snap a couple pictures (of course!).

Nine Months

Explore, explore, that is what you love to do. Sometimes I will be folding the laundry and think that you are in the kitchen playing and then all is quiet. As I peek my head out the door I don't see you in the kitchen, but instead exploring in the living room or crawling down the hallway in the search of your next adventure. Of course after a few minutes of playing you realize you are by yourself and start to cry for somebody to play with you. You are crawling on all fours now and you are pretty fast too, especially when you something or someone! But your biggest achievement is cruising all over the place. You pull yourself up on anything and everything and walk around and along the object as far as you can. You are pretty quick too, I don't think it will be long before you are trying to take that first step. You can clap your hands together now. You always smile when you clap too, it's so cute. You can almost say the dog's name, at least we know what you are trying to say. You and Ocho are like best friends, you are always looking for him and whenever you are close he is laying right beside you. Sometimes Ocho will be sleeping on the couch and you like to go over there and smack him on the face to wake him up so he will play with you. You are learning about sizes and that things can go inside each other. I love watching you while you are trying to figure out how this works. You get quiet with a serious look on your face, then after about a minute you sigh and look up at me with a laugh and a smile. You love to talk - you will go on and on in your own gibberish talk and sometimes you can get pretty loud when we are not listening! It is fun to have a conversion with you, even though we don't know what each other saying. You got your second tooth on February 1. I think this one was harder on you than the first one. It was the second bottom front one. I can't believe how big you are getting and how much you can grown. In just the time it took for you to grow in my tummy you have become this little boy that is starting to walk and talk and be your own little person.

Eight Months

How quickly you are learning to do new things! It seems like as soon as you learn how to do one things, you master it in a few days and are onto learning how to do something new! You could get into a sitting position for the first time by yourself on the day after New Year's. And within three days you had that mastered and were pulling yourself up onto your knees - with the help of the dishwasher at first and then anything that was low enough. Within a few days after that pulled yourself into a standing position with the help of the couch because you wanted to see Daddy. After that you were pulling yourself up onto everything because you loved the new "view" you had! You would get so excited that you accomplished this new task. When you army crawl down the hallway the first place you go is Jacob's room, you love being in there with the boys, while they are playing on the game system. You always like to pull on Jacob's controller cord and pull it out of the box. Daddy likes that because then he can beat Jacob on the game easier. Your figured out how to get into the drawers in Jacob's room, and you pull all all his clothes and toss them around the room. You still love being in the kitchen with me and you have learned how to open the cabinets. You love the lids to the pots and pans and going through the towel drawer, which also now has some of your toys in it too! You are also learning more and more new words. I think that you know who and want "dada" means. You can also say "get" and "got". but you have no idea what they mean. I am still working on trying to get you to say "mama," guess you are saving the best for last. And... after weeks of puddles of drool and countless wet shirts, you cut your first tooth on December 29! It was one of the bottom front ones. It took you a little while to get use to it, I would see your little tongue trying to figure out what that new thing was. You are growing by leaps and bounds, I can see that it is going to be hard to keep up with you! Eight Months Pic Here!

Seven Months

You are starting to learn so many new things! You figured out how to get around on your own! You started slowly army crawling around the living room and by the time Christmas came you were all over the house! Luckily you didn't take much interest in the tree until it was almost time to take it down. You love to explore everything in the house now, especially the drawers under Jacob's bed and in the kitchen, but you can't get into them just yet. You are just amazed at it rolling back and forth. The kitchen is your favorite place to be, especially when I am in there making dinner. You also love the outlets and electric cords. We had to cover all those up really fast! You are starting to use those legs and you can stand with Daddy or mine's help. And you love to bounce once you are standing. You said your first word, "dada," although you are still trying to figure out what it means. You love to talk and we pretend like we know what you are saying and talk with you. You started trying to drink from a sippy cup, you know that something is in there, but you can't always figure out how it comes out. You love you excer-saucer and will spend hours in there each day. You also will give out kisses, but only to a select few people! You also let us know that you want to be picked up by crawling over to our leg and hanging onto it. And of course we do because you are so huggable to hold!

Your First Halloween

You really had no idea what was going on for Halloween this year. Heck you are only 5 months old! But we dressed you up in a super cute frog costume and took you for a walk in your stroller for a little while. We even had you go to a couple of houses and get candy, but it was really just for me to take pictures!
